General information

Consumers need to register once with mpass in order to use the services offered. When making purchases in the online shop, consumers have two ways to use mpass for paying for their purchase: using the mobile phone number, mpass-PIN (password), and mTAN or using the virtual mpass Mastercard®.

Please visit mpass for further information and details.

Mobile phone number, mpass-PIN and mTAN

In order to use this service, consumers first need to register with mpass, open an account and top it up via a standard money transfer or direct bank transfer (e.g. Sofort.). When buying in an online shop, the consumer selects mpass as payment method and enters his mobile phone number, mpass-PIN as well as the mTAN which the consumer received per SMS. The purchased amount is directly charged from the consumer’s mpass account. This procedure makes mpass a highly secure payment method for online payments.

Virtual mpass Mastercard®

The card comes equipped with a card number, a validity date and a three-digit card verification code. Consumers will obtain the virtual mpass Mastercard® without having to undergo any credit assessment as - unlike the procedure with common credit cards - the money is deducted directly from the consumer’s mpass account. A general credit assessment is effected when the consumer registers with mpass. If the consumer does not pass this credit assessment, the use of the direct debit system in combination with the mpass account is not possible. However, consumers may still use mpass by crediting the mpass account via a standard money transfer or direct bank transfer.

Payment is possible in any online shops that accept Mastercard®.
